This is a painting taken from the duPont estate in Pennsylvania.  There is actually an ornate gazebo next to this pond which I couldn't quite make work.  So one day I painted over the gazebo (an advantage to oil paints), and, here was this glorious scene.  Some of the trees in the background had not fully leafed this early in the spring, leaving the grays and pinks, which definitely added interest and contrast.
