"Red Tree with Birches" 

"The white trunks of the birches along the Potomac River and the C&O Canal always inspire me.  In spring, summer and fall they create a wonderful contrast with the surrounding foliage and in this painting the birches contrast with the vibrant red maple tree.  In winter these tree trunks add a definition to the cold, sometimes white landscape."
