"Basset hounds are enigmas. While never given credit for having much intelligence, they are resolute and determined to get their way and go about it using unorthodox methods. Sadie's expression here is woeful and very typical, comical and diverting, and she used it to her advantage as she stubbornly stood her ground sometimes refusing to move. This unique ability to manipulate indicated some strange form of intelligence with Sadie usually winning."  Joann Rea
